Nigeria’s apex bank Zenith Bank recently launched a new banking service that allows you carry out banking transactions by calling a dedicated phone line through your registered phone number.
When you dial +234 (1) 278 7000 from the phone number linked to your Zenith Bank Account, you will hear an interactive customer care voice that prompts you on the next step to take if you are a registered user. To use the service you will have to register as a user.
You can restrict or block your account or the ATM Cards linked to it, view the last five transactions on your account, request your account statement via email, pay for DSTV/GOTV, transfer funds, buy airtime, and do lots more.
Although this innovative new automated voice banking service by Zenith Bank will drive an amazing experience and convenience for customers, users should be wary about the Cybersecurity risks involved.
Anyone who has access to your mobile device can easily call that automated number to carry out transactions without your consent.
I hope they put measures in place like Multi Factor authentication, and several layers of security to prevent fraudsters and hackers from accessing your account.
